Stellarons are seeds of disaster that latch onto worlds and corrupt them. They mess with people's minds and promise to fulfill their desires, but the cost is always too great. Nobody knows how to destroy them, so they have to be stabilized and contained. I have one here.

Even if she was, if the cult sealed her abilities, too, we'd be in the same situation.

Perhaps. But it's useful to consider things that have worked before.
