[ caelus seizes for a split second when another person is beside him. relaxes when he slants his gaze in their direction and discovers it's aerith. ]

Every time I think I know the rules to this place, something changes.

[residentflorist]

[oh. she does pause a little upon seeing him seize up, holding a hand up as if to steady him. just her. she is harmless.]

Think that might be by design. They can't stand to let us get too comfortable here. [she shakes her head.] Like yesterday wasn't bad enough?

[ affection week/weak. raising an arm to set it on her shoulder. they are pals. ]

They can't even give us a regular party. We're always a step away from a good get-together and then something goes boom.

[residentflorist]

[reaching up to pat the hand around her shoulder. friendship is fine, she does nothing to remove the arm.]

When you think about it, everything from Tuesday was caused by some of us. [people's powers, man.] Not that it makes it much better. But there was no excuse for what happened at the festival. Like we were supposed to remember we're not actually here to enjoy ourselves.

[ OH YEAH. sidelong glance. is it a bad or really bad idea to ask about miss robin, then?

I don't think anyone could have forgotten that. Feels pretty mean-spirited.

[ not an argument, but a confirmation. this place sucks. ]

[residentflorist]

We can try to make it as comfortable as we can. That's the best we can do knowing this place will fight back. I don't think that's a reason for us to stop, but I can see how some people would have a hard time after something like this.

[trashprince]

They made it all out alive.

[ that's worth hanging onto. as long as they're alive, there's hope. this belief will not be seriously tested tomorrow. we will have pizza and be fine. ]

We can be thankful for that.

[residentflorist]

Absolutely. [they have to be thankful for that. this palce is testing them every day, and to not acknowledge the small victories...well. this is all they can do now.] We can be thankful, and we'll just have to do our best to make sure nothing else happens to them. I don't like the idea that this could be another thing we have to watch out for going forward, but...we'll stick together.
