[ caelus is back in his usual duds and carrying a <href="https://trashprince.dreamwidth.org/file/3285.jpg">bat. he pokes around the church at the moment, casually tugging remaining swamp leeches off of himself and leaving them behind him like a trail of breadcrumbs. ]
[ coming by the cabin because the plaque has a list of exceptional names and he's kind of jealous...? the barn is nice and all, but a real bed sounds like an impossible to ignore upgrade. ]
Ishtar thought ahead and asked for cleaning supplies so the barn's already feeling homier.
[ ........separately: ]
But I ended up rooming with two people I know from before and they don't get along. I don't usually mediate without someone else doing a lot of the talking.
[ sitting on a bench, staring into the fire. elbows on his knees as he half bends over, hands clasped around the hilt of his bat. doesn't seem to notice ashlyn's approach. deep in contemplation. ]
[ ah... she comes over and sits down beside him, and for a long time just doesn't say anything. she doesn't really understand what his relationship was with aventurine, but they knew each other, so that makes it harder. ]
[ yeah the combination of affection week and knowing he just lost a friend. or two. really makes it hard to say no, here. plus he's already holding a brush, so... sure. she'll take one of those. ]
[ looking for ashlyn with two peaches and a lot of sympathy. when he sees her, makes sure he catches her eye before miming as if to underhand toss a peach. if she wants. ]
it might be a trip, following along as caelus races and climbs and leaps upon that ancient machine. time and again, he's about to lose his grip or fail to make a landing, but one of his companions has his back. so, he can't fail them.
he doesn't know why he's able to follow his own will and not the voice of the stellaron inside him. it's not fair that cocolia couldn't ward off its false promises, that she now battles on behalf of the end of her world.
she kills him. tries to. awakens, instead, a sense of preservation. caelus' end has been foretold. this isn't it.
this concludes in a daughter losing her mother, a feeling caelus will never quite understand. it hurts, anyway. bronya doesn't deserve to suffer.
not long after, it's over. they stand by a swamp. ]
[ bro fantasy worlds are too intense for her. it's a struggle to keep up with this as she tries to understand it at each part of the memory and—doesn't, really, before it's onto something else happening.
she understands that there's a threat. some kind of tragedy. something that protected him. ]
[ she's sitting near the swamp after having been healed up. there's no longer a hole in her leg or her stomach, but the scratch marks across her face and the black chain-shaped burn marks around her remain. ]

[ he approaches her with a bucket of candy hanging off his arm and either hand holding a brush. one for caelus, one for her. duh.
sure, he's upset after the last couple days. really, really badly upset. but you know what those feelings can do? be tamped down, deep, deep inside! ]

the swamp heals??? does it? does it?
his bat must be at the barn since he has two hands to settle on his hips, his head shaking lightly in disbelief. this monday. the heck.

Hey.
[ then they're flung into darkness and then the bright of a world enshrouded in snow, far far away.
cocolia has fallen to a stellaron.
