he'll approach hawke anyway, out near the swamp, perhaps both of them wondering if any additional boxes have appeared. ]

[ it's fine it can match her bethany mark currently decorating her neck. she seems to be perfectly content in ignoring hers however ]

I definitely miss staying at a hotel.

[ this is not the life of luxury he's become accustomed to! but also it's exciting to try new things.

Quite honestly, even that would a luxurious step up from staying at our local tavern. It certainly smells better, that's for one. And I'm certain it's far warmer than a drafty old cabin.

Another word for it is 'Stellaron.' I carry one inside of me--it's stable and safe.

[ before anyone gets all anxious. caelus' cancer (of all worlds) may never be in remission, but it's managed. ]

The Astral Express crew that I'm part of, we go to different worlds to find other Stellarons and stop their influence from spreading. Without a 'receptacle' or being sealed, they'll start creating fragmen--they create monsters and mess with people's heads.

Other worlds, hm? And here I thought traveling from one side of thedas to the other was quite the undertaking.

[ wheresmt is our boy today? hawke and ser snuffles are on their walkies when he swerves suddenly and trots his way over instead of their usual path.

[ with his keen nose, ser snuffles can pick up the scent of the galactic baseballer. caelus currently wanders around the cemetery, checking out the gravestones. he has a bucket of something and he looks up when hawke and pup approach ]

[ hawke is just half distracted glancing around. i don't think she's actually come this way yet ]

This is Ser Snuffles. He's my little bit of home in this cursed place.

[ rude!!! somehow caelus had not heard about animals being delivered via box, same as everything else. he's dumb and ignores some smaller questlines, what do you want me to say?

anyway. crouching down to reach out hand for sniffing ]

They certainly did. Mind, I think he was more comfortable in there than he is in the cabin.

[ ser snuffle borks once. it was very cozy! he then busies himself in sniffing the offered hand. treats? treats?? ]

He's been with me long before we ever made it to Kirkwall. Back when we were fleeing the blight, Bethany was the one to find him, the last one left in an abandoned village. Unsurprisingly, she was also the one who named it.

he rubs under ser snuffles' chin ]

I'm sorry to hear it. She had great taste in names.

[ caelus just keeps rolling nat 1's and I'm in tears. at least she likes talking about her precious baby sister ]

Ser Snuffles certainly thought so. Carver wanted to name him something akin to Barkspawn but as you can see that didn't stick at all.

[ that's another blissed out bork from ser snuffles. could you imagine? him being called barkspawn? terrible. he doesn't regret chewing carvers shoe for the indignity ]

[ EVERY TIME HE TALKS TO HER he nosedives into some emotional landmine. it's not on purpose, i swear. (it's just very very sad-funny) ]

He's still causing me headaches, if that's what you're concerned about.

[ she's laughing at him silently again. rip caelus your dialogue options are so bad ]

'Unfortunately,' huh? Does he get into a lot of trouble?

[ hawke sticks her foot into her mouth on a regular basis, it's refreshing to see it happen in reverse for a change ]

He's a right pain in my ass on a good day. [ lovingly ] But he's the Grey Wardens problem now.

[ you'll find her staring at her hands at some point, clearly bothered by all this nonsense happening already but not quite sure what to do about it. it's not like one can simply go around placing barriers around your memories and be like 'keep out of my thoughts you bloody bastards!'. unfortunately for her, shit just doesn't work that way.

unfortunately for caelus, upon noticing him, he gets a very specific memory

[ it's almost as if a dark, unseen force is pushing caelus to constantly stumble around hawke. here it is, again, him bumbling into a memory of a precious-yet-horrific moment. he has no siblings, but he's seen a child lose a parent, he's able to imagine the misery he'd succumb to if march or dan heng were to fall.

another death sits with him, although he has questions to pursue should he ever return to penacony. ]
