Heh, something like that! It's been a while, so I'm a little rusty. Have you ever ridden a horse before?

No! No, I haven't.

[ it isn't subtle at all how much caelus would like to change that fact ]

Do you want to give it a try? He's really well trained.

Can he carry both of us?

[ doesn't want to hurt the horsie ]

Mmhm. It's not unusual for a horse this big to carry more than one rider. Here.

[ rondo will fairly effortlessly swing off the side of the horse, and dismounts with ease. ]

I can help you up. Do you want me to lift you, or do you want a boost?

[trashprince]

[ sir rondo, be still caelus' heart. how gallant!

anyway, the question is interesting since he comes up to about rondo's ear. iwatooshi lifted him at the treats-for-tricks event, but iwa has ten or so centimeters on the blond.

he raises his arms. ]

Lift me.

[flameguard]

Just swing your leg over it once you're up, okay?

[ bet. rondo's pretty strong - he's not iwa's height, and a princess carry is going to be completely impossible, but! he nods, and sets his hands on caelus' waist. ] One, two... three!

[ and then hoists him up! from the thighs. power lift. stronk. onto the horse you go. ]

[ away he sooooooaaaaaarrrsss--

a few feet off the ground. rondo wasn't joking around. caelus remembers right before it would be too late the direction to swing his leg. fortunately, he makes it in the nick of time. step one, complete. ]

We did it!

[ gets to look down at rondo for a hot minute ]

What now?

[flameguard]

[ i'm very proud of him. rondo also looks proud of himself because yeah! he's strong! :muscle: anyway ]

Well, that depends. Do you want me to lead you around, or do you want me to hop up with you? He can hold the both of us, I think.

[trashprince]

[ being led around sounds lame. caelus doesn't get far, but he scoots further along the horse's back, sitting closer to the base of his mighty equine neck. ]

Let's ride together.

[ offers down a hand although unclear if that will be helpful for rondo joining him ]

[flameguard]

Alright. Move forward a little.

[ he says in instruction, and then! without much effort, he puts one foot in the stirrup on the saddle, one hand on the horn and one hand on the back, and swings himself up and over the back of the horse. this is clearly a familiar position, or at least a familiar task! knight behavior, et cetera.

it takes him a second to get settled, but he moves into the space behind caelus and slides his arms around to pick up the reins, too. ]

There. [ cheerful. ] Alright, then. Let's start slow...

[ and he'll nudge his heels gently into the horse's sides! it lurches forward, and takes the first few steps to begin walking. ]

[ if the goal is to be charming, call caelus thoroughly charmed. the last knight he met called him beautiful, sure, but he didn't have a horse to ride. this is a huge upgrade. affection week is the best. surely nothing terrible will happen (again) (and soon).

however: ]

I want to go fast.

[flameguard]

[ this is not a goal but the rizz is accidental. sometimes you are simply a knight in shining armor (real)

this makes him laugh - honestly, it's a short, bright noise, and he seems delighted by it. good!! a sense of adventure!! ]

Fast? Alright, if you're sure. Hold on tight, then.

[ he turns the horse towards a flatter destination, adjusts his grip... and then cracks the reins and says - ] Hya!

[ and the horse immediately TAKES OFF ]
